A mother of three daughters and a hobby-chef in her free time, Annely Allik is Head of the Science Communication Department at the Research Council of Estonia. Annely’s passion for marketing and communicating science has been honed over years of experience as, amongst others, the person responsible for public trust-building and engagement around the national biobanking initiative and senior roles at Toyota Motor Corp and G4S Security.
A recipient of multiple Public Relations awards from her peers and holding voluntary positions on pan-European Media & Marketing Committees promoting science conferencing, Annely is a firm believer in the power of science communication to develop a better society. Her vision is one of greater access to scientific achievements for all, in securing merit-based academic succession, and in ensuring that every country has the necessary workforce to promote sustainable growth and ethical development.
